Gerechtigkeitsgasse 32, 3011 Bern, Switzerland
Shuar Design Boutique is part of Yankuam, an indigenous culture centre in the heart of Bern’s old town. Yankuam creates a space for culture, education, and fair trade in close collaboration with Indigenous Shuar artisans from the Ecuadorian Amazon.
The SHUAR DESIGN BOUTIQUE offers fair-trade, handmade craft and ethnodesign developed together with Shuar artists. Alongside workshops and events, the space shares spiritual knowledge from the Shuar culture. As an Agroverse partner, Shuar Design Boutique offers bags of Agroverse ceremonial cacao for sale, connecting the Bern community with regenerative, ethically-sourced cacao from Brazilian farmers and supporting both rainforest restoration and Indigenous livelihoods.
Yankuam’s three pillars include the NANKI EXPERIENCE (workshops, circles, and ritual encounters) and the UWISHIN ACADEMY (spiritual learning for song, embodiment, and connection to nature). The centre is run by Verein Yankuam, a nonprofit based in Bern, with a binational founding team rooted in Switzerland and the Ecuadorian Amazon: Kintianua Chiriap, Claudio Reinhard, Jennyfer Ankuash, and Antoine Vincenti.
