From cattle pasture to cacao: rebuilding the farm (video & transcript)
Transcript
This used to be a farm with cattle and pigs, and there was even a leisure area here. Then, my father started planting cacao and coconut. If it weren’t for a very strong spiritual moment, a revelation from the Holy Spirit, he might not have received the inspiration to transform all of this into a cacao farm. That’s why he left his career in politics and the police to become a cacao farmer. Now, he dedicates his entire life to cacao trees. That also explains the Jesus statue you’re seeing here.
In the next demonstration, I’ll show you how he opens the cacao pod. He takes a machete and carefully splits it open. He’s an excellent farmer, truly skilled. He used to make a living from the flesh of the cacao, processing it with care. Usually, he works with just one helper, one guy. But when it’s harvesting time, he brings in seven or eight more people to help with the workload.
